Upcoming Trip to Turkey
May 23 – June 18, 2014
I was nominated by a Nashville government official who went last year to Turkey, and I was approved for a ten-day Cultural Dialogue trip to Turkey. Fortunately, they agreed to include my dear Christine in the trip. Those selected to go are typically influential figures in local/state government, education, religion. Somehow, I am fortunate to have been thought of in that venue. Except for international flight, it is an all-expenses venture paid by the Atlantic Institute, a foundation of Muslims. Their platform is to “build bridges, not walls…” the practical and impactful philosophy of Fethullah Gulen, state-approved in Turkey.
In May and June, Christine and I will be in Turkey for this trip to see many high profile places and be in numerous homes of locals. We will go on to Greece for a biblical tour of eight days, returning to the States directly to my family’s reunion for some days in Steamboat Springs. I hope to visit other friends in the Eaton area for a few days after the reunion.
